Kanchanjhunga Trek

Kanchanjhunga Trek

Kanchenjunga I 8586m/28150ft the 3rd highest mountain in the world located in Eastern Nepal on the boarder in Sikkim is considered as one of the most beautiful mountain massifs in the world. It is surrounded by a spectacular National Park characterized by exceptional natural and cultural diversity. The ethnic groups such as the Rai and Limbu people live peacefully together in a magnificent wealth of flora nourished by the higher summer rainfall in the region, in some of the most outstanding mountain vistas anywhere in the Himalaya. The summer rainfall adds to the glacial torrent of the Tamur and Ghunsa Rivers fed from the glaciers of North West side of the Kangchenjunga Himal.  The massif of Kanchenjunga  containing 4 peaks over 8000m and 7902m Kangbachendominates the scenery without taking any grandeur from stunning neighbouring numerous 7000m peaks includingJannu and Pyramid peak.

The circuit starts from Basantpur at 2200m and for first 3 days it meanders the ridge trail up to 3000m with stunning views on the highest mountains in Himalayas before descending to GhunsaKhola valley taking us to colorful Sherpa village of Ghunsa and to the north side of Kanchenjunga  half way up the Kanchenjunga glacier for amazing view of north face of Kanchenjunga.
