Kathmandu Durbar Square in Kathmandu is the most extensive of the three royal palace squares, not only in size but also in scale of its open space & structures. It never fails to impress first time visitors with its intricate wood carvings and rich history. The palace is an amalgamation of eastern and western architecture with additions by Rana and Shah rulers over the centuries.
Some important monuments to see in this area are:
•The Taleju Temple is the tallest of all structures, built by King Mahendra Malla in 1549 AD. This temple is open to the public for one day each year during the Dashain festival.
•The Jagannath Temple, built in the 16th century is known for the fascinating erotic figures carved on the wooden struts.
•The Kal Bhairav, one of the largest 17th century stone statues in Kathmandu, representing the terrifying aspect of Lord Shiva.
•Swet-Bhairav – the temple is open to the public once in year during Indra Jatra Festival.
•The 17th century Kumari Temple (the temple of Living Goddess) is an example of highly developed Nepali craftmanship.
•Kasthamandap, from which Kathmandu derives its name, is said to have been built from the timber of a single tree.
•Nautalle Durbar (the nine storyed palace)

The Druk Path Trek is one of the most frequented treks. It is a fairly short yet exhilarating trek that is both challenging and rewarding. The views, like most other treks in Bhutan, are fascinating and exhilarate ones senses, owing to the incredible beauty and majesty of the Himalayas.

The trek commences from Paro to Jele Dzong at 2591 meters, from where one can see the Paro Valley with snow-capped mountains behind. The trail to Jangchulakha at 2896 meters takes you through thick alpine forests and rhododendron trees. Follow the ridge next day to Jimilangtsho at 3353 meters, and be enthralled with the beautiful views of the mountains and the surrounding valleys. The Trail to Simkota at 3505 meters leads you through dwarf rhododendron trees passing by Lake Janetsho. The route to Phajoding at 2896 meters on a clear day allows one beautiful views of Mount ‘Gankhar Punsum’. The final day of the trek to Thimphu is all downhill through forests of Blue Pine.

Campsites at lakes and the possible sights of Yak herders en route are the additional attractions in the trek.

Bumthang is extraordinarily beautiful, even for Bhutanese. Its four high valleys are covered in forests that embrace small monasteries, chortens, traditional stone houses, and markets. Elevations on treks stay below 3,650m, and each day’s walk is steadfastly unhurried. After a couple of days in Paro we drive to Thimphu’s crafts centers and temples, and then over the splendid Dochu La & Chelila Passes to Tongsa and Jakar, the Bumthang Valley’s main village. This is Bhutan’s most sacred valley, hallowed 1,200 years ago by the visits of Padmasambhava (the great Buddhist master, called Guru Rinpoche or the Precious Teacher). Our four-day trek will take you through forests and farmlands, over trout streams to remote villages in which the rest of the world’s last couple of centuries are dim and not particularly enticing rumors. Few treks offer such a deep look into Bhutan’s delicate and charming daily life. (Our fall itinerary coincides with a centuries-old festival in a remote village where you will be welcomed as honored guests.)

Langtang valley and Yala Peak lie in the northern part of Kathmandu and southern part of Tibetan border. Where we can explore both Lantang valley and Yala Peak in short period of trekking. Lantang is a beautiful valley, which is surrounded by high peaks and from Lantang we can observe the breathtaking scenery. One of the British mountaineer Bill Tilman explained it as a most beautiful valley in the world. In this valley people are taking interest for trekking to visit the glacier of the low elevation. On the way, we have to passes through dense forests, terraces, green hills and we can also see pasture land. The main ethnics groups of this region are Tamang, Tibetan Lama and Sherpa also. Tamang people have somehow same culture, language and dress of like Tibetan Lama. They have their own culture and tradition, which may be different and interesting for you.

After crossing the beautiful Langtang valley our trail goes towards Yala Peak, which is one of the easier trekking peak of the Nepal and popular trekking peaks of Langtang region. For climbing this peak you didn’t need to have mountaineering experience. We can see different types of vegetation like flora and fauna, pine, spruce, Juniper, alpine etc on the way. In Kyanjin Gompa (way to Yala peak) we can visit Monastery and Cheese making factory. From the base camp of Yala Peak we can see the fascinating view of Naya Kang, Tserko RI, Ganchepo, Yala peak and from the summit of Yala Peak we can see the beautiful view of Dorje Lakpa, Shisapang, Naya kang, Ganchenpo, Tserko RI, Langtang Lirungand many other Tibetan Mountains.

So, the Langtang valley trek and Yala peak climbing is the most interesting trip, where you can explore the beautiful Lantang valley and Yala peak and see the fascinating Mountain View of Nepal and as well as Tibet also. You can also explore the Tibetan culture, tradition, language and dress.

The trail follows six hours driving to Dhunche from Kathmadu to the North and end at another point in Sundarijal. Gosaikunda trekking grants the others perspective of Langtang trekking in the same region.

Gosaikunda is a lake which lies in Rasuwa district of Langtang region that is the site of regular Hindu pilgrimage a journey or search of great moral significance. It is situated at the height of 4380 metres from sea level, and melts and sips down to form the Trishuli River. The lake remains frozen for 6 months in winter october to june. In fact there are 108 total lakes, small to medium in this area and also the challenging Lauribina La pass 4610 meters on its outskirts.

It is believed to have originated from the digging of the land by the Trishul (holy 3 pointed sword) of lord Shiva after he drank the poison from samudramanthan and desperately wanted cold water to drink to quench the overwhelming heat of the poison.

This trek known, also as the small Annapurna Circuit, is a very popular one in Nepal. The highest point of this trek (3200 mtrs) and for many the highlight is an early morning pilgrimage to Poon Hill for a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas, where the mountains stretch as far as the eye can see North towards Tibet West towards the Dhaulagiri Himal and East with superb views of the Annapurna Himal. Not a difficult trek, but it helps if you have a reasonable degree of fitness. This trek is considered to be the best introduction to trekking with some spectacular views.

It gained its name because Prince Charles and an entourage of 90 guests trekked here. The route is not a frequented one with few other trekkers. It is however a lovely walk and not strenuous with some lovely vistas of the Annapurna range. The trek finishes 5 km away from the main town of Pokhara where transport is ready to transfer you to your hotel.

One fascinating journey to experience the differing cultures of the Annapurna region. Commencing with a flight into the heart of the lower Mustang district, we continue to the ancient village of Kagbeni, on the border of upper Mustang and the Hidden Kingdom. From here we travel North-East, through arid landscape to the sacred pilgrimage town of Muktinath, this area is Tibet all but in name. The journey back travels through the Kali Ghandaki canyon, the deepest in the World entering into Thakali and Gurung tribal culture, through lush forests complemented by the ever changing views of the Annapurna range. This trek is the easier part of the Annapurna Circuit and is ideal for those with less time or for those not wishing the exertion of a 5416m. pass.

Commencing with an overland journey to Beshi Sahar, 130 km West of Kathmandu where we overnight, our trek follows the gorge of Marshyangdi river through lush fields of paddy, innumerable tiny streams, waterfalls and beautiful villages, eventually emerging into high desert country at Manang (3597 m.). The trek gains in height fairly gently reducing the chances of altitude sickness, although we do spend a day acclimatising before crossing the Thorang-La (5416 m.). From a high lodge camp we are up early for our crossing of the Thorang- La (tremendous high mountain feelings) before our decent to Muktinath in the lower Mustang region, one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Buddhist and Hindu people in Nepal.

We continue through the dry, arid landscape to Kagbeni, a fascinating historical fortress town. The trail back follows the Kali Gandaki River to Jomsom (optional fly out here) beneath the shadow of immense Himalayan peaks and through the deepest canyon in the World. We descend to Tatopani before ascending to Ghorepani and Poon hill for some tremendous sunrise views of both the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himal. A further two days are spent trekking through beautiful Rhododendron bamboo and Oak forest before eventually reaching Nayapul for a short drive to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara. This trek is considered to be a classic Nepal trek – to experience the vast bio diversity and cultural heritage Nepal is renowned for.

Located to the west of Solukhumbu is the secluded and rarely visited Rolwaling valley. The upper reaches of the valley are connected to the Solukhumbu by the high and difficult pass of Tashi Lapsta pass. Trekkers contemplating trek that connects Rolwaling with khumbu should always travel from east to west (khumbu to Rolwaling). To attempt to do the trek in reverse is likely to result in technical and altitude problems. The trek, particularly the crossing of Tashi Lapsta pass, is one of the more difficult treks in Nepal and should only be attempted by self-sufficient, b and experienced parties. Some basic mountaineering skills are required. Staff, particularly porters, must be experienced and from the district. For good acclimatization, a trek to Everest Base Camp or Gokyo, prior to crossing over to Rolwaling, is an excellent idea. The route to Tashi Lapsta pass starts at Thame.it takes two nights to reach Tashi Lapsta pass which, ideally, should be crossed early in the day to avoid rock fall from the slopes above. The pass is usually ice covered and porters carrying large loads will need assistance. If camping at the peaks, be careful to choose a campsite that is well away from the rock fall area.

The next two days are spent traveling down the Drolambao glacier. There are two icefalls on the route, which usually require the use of ropes to descend. At the end of the glacier is the massive Cho Rolpa glacial lake. After the glacier the upper Rolwaling valley is hemmed in by mountains on both sides with the bulk of Gauri Shankar on the northern side. The settlements on Nah and Beding are Sherpa villages, Nah being only a summer settlement. As you descended below beding the valley becomes forested first with juniper and pines and later the vegetation becomes lusher. The Sherpas give way to people of the middle hills mainly Tamang and Brahmins. After seven days from Tashi Lapsta pass the end of the trek is reached at Charikot on the Kathmandu to Jiri road. The trek, particularly the crossing of Tashi Lapsta pass, is one of the more difficult treks in Nepal and should only be attempted by self-sufficient, b and experienced parties. Some basic mountaineering skills are required. Staff, particularly porters, must be experienced and from the district.

Legendarily born of a lotus in the middle of a lake, it is to Guru Rimpoche that the Prayers and maniwall inscriptions are address as “”OM MANI PADME HUM”, Hail to the jewel of the lotus. Religious book recount that Guru Rimpoche was a powerful Magician and sorcerer.

Sherpas celebrate many ceremonies in the region, including marriage ceremonies, Funerals, manning of a child, driving out evilspirits, obtaining Sonam (Merit) and other offerings to be made in the name of the local gods. Mani-Rimdu Festival

Mani Rimdu, a very important festival to the Sherpas, falls on the full moon day of Tibetan ninenth month (October/November/December). The three day celebrations of Mani Rimdu follow the ten-day non-stop prayer sessions addressed to the parton deities – seeking ” blessing for the good of all mainkind”. The portagoniest of all is Guru Rimpoche, the founder of Vajrayan Buddism in Tibet. Masked Lamas of Khumbu region perform various religious rituals amidts dancing and singing.

The first celebration of Mani-Rimdu at Monastery of Tyangboche(Everest region) seems to have taken place some time in 1930. It originates from Rongbukh Monastery in Tibet Mani-Rimdu is a prayer ceremony where the Monks put on masks representing divine personages and perform ritual dances. The spectators of devotion come from many village to gain Sonam (merit) from the head Lama’s blessing and making corn and grain contributions to the Monk’s community. Mani-Rimdu normally takes place every year in the month of November (full moon, it can be changed depending upon Tibetan Calender) and at-least for three days. This period coincides with the cessation of work in the village at the end of harvesting. Mani-Rimdu is the only big social event that draws together large crowds from all villagers in the Khumbu region.

The Gokyo-Renjo La Pass trail is considered as an alternative trekking route to the traditional Everest Base Camp trek. Renjo la pass gives an alternative way to the Gokyo trek making a circuit. This is a less crowded popular adventure trek in the Everest region. A full day is spent in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion to the surrounding legendary Sherpa villages before heading off to the Gokyo valley. Breathtaking mountain vistas are complemented by visits to the Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries. One of the highlights of this trek is the Gokyo Lake situated at the west of Everest Base Camp. The summit of Gokyo Ri (5360m) provides an excellent opportunity to see the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest (8848m) and the 6th highest peak, Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m) at a closer distance. An excursion to the fourth and fifth lakes would be an extra attraction from Gokyo. Gokyo Ri is considered as the best view point in the entire Everest Region for more spectacular views than that from the Kalapatthar. The trek continues over Renjo la pass and we arrive at Thame, yet another popular Sherpa settlement. Renjo la pass provides a life time memory of panoramic views of the Everest Himalayan range.
This region in eastern Nepal is home to the Sherpa culture. The many small yak-grazing settlements that we travel through will give you a unique glimpse into the daily lives of the Sherpas. The religious icons of the people are often as spectacular as the mountains that surround them.

Trip Highlight

This tramp will give us massive pleasure to initiate you to a shocking view of the Everest (supreme of Mountains). Mount Everest Base Camp has been a popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953. After exploring the temples, shrines, bazaars and restaurants of Kathmandu we take an exciting mountain flight to Lukla and trek up the Dudh Kosi Valley, surrounded by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. It’s a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar, capital of the Kumbu Sherpas, where we are again greeted by spectacular mountain vistas. A rest day here aids acclimatization and there are great optional walks to enjoy the area. We then follow the trail to famous Tengboche, located high on a ridge where a magnificent 360-degree panorama awaits. The views of mighty Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam and Kantega dominate this peaceful and spiritual location – surely one of the most tranquil and inspiring places in the world. The view from this spot, seen to best advantage in the morning, is absolutely mesmerizing and stunning and is precisely surmised to be one of the most superlative in the world.

Mount Everest has an allure unrivalled by other mountains. It draws trekkers from all over the globe to the famous Himalayan trail the classic Everest Base Camp Trek for a journey that will make memories for a lifetime.

Two weeks of challenging but rewarding trekking will follow during which you will be able to enjoy the hospitality of the Nepalese people. We stay in tea houses, which provide comfortable places to rest along the way.
